What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember things between page loads — most commonly, that you are signed in.

What CutAI uses

We use essential cookies, referral cookies, analytics cookies, and advertising-measurement cookies for the two networks we advertise on. We do not sell or share cookie data beyond the services named below.

The cookies set when you use our website are:

  • Authentication cookies, set by our authentication provider when you sign in. These keep you signed in as you move between pages and let us verify your session is valid. Without them you cannot stay signed in or reach your account page.
  • Payment cookies, set by Stripe on the checkout and billing pages, which Stripe hosts. Stripe uses these to process your payment securely and to detect fraud. See Stripe's privacy policy for details.
  • Referral cookies, set only if you arrive through a creator's link (a web address ending in ?ref= and their code) or type a creator code on the sign-up page. They record which creator sent you so that creator is credited if you subscribe. They are tolt_referral and tolt_data, set by Tolt, the service that runs our creator program (see Tolt's privacy policy), and cutai_ref, set by us. They last 30 days, hold a random reference and the creator's code — never your name or email — and are used for nothing else. If you never use a creator link or code, they are never set.
  • Advertising-measurement cookies, set by the TikTok Pixel. We advertise CutAI on TikTok, and the pixel tells TikTok when someone who saw or tapped one of our ads visits the site, starts checkout, or subscribes, so we can see which ads work and TikTok can show them to people more likely to want CutAI. They are _ttp and _tt_enable_cookie, set by TikTok for 13 months, and cutai_ttclid, set by us for 28 days if you arrived from a TikTok ad; each holds a random identifier — never your name, email, or anything you type here. If you subscribe, we also tell TikTok about the purchase from our server, using that identifier and a one-way hash of your email so TikTok can match it to the ad without receiving the address itself. TikTok may combine this with what it knows about your TikTok account; see TikTok's privacy policy. You can opt out of TikTok's ad personalization in your TikTok settings.
  • Advertising-measurement cookies, set by the Meta Pixel. We also advertise CutAI on Facebook and Instagram, and the pixel tells Meta when someone who saw or tapped one of our ads visits the site, starts checkout, creates an account, starts a trial, or is charged for a subscription, so we can see which ads work and Meta can show them to people more likely to want CutAI. They are _fbp and _fbc, set by Meta for 90 days, and cutai_fbc, set by us for 90 days if you arrived from a Meta ad; each holds a random identifier — never your name, email, or anything you type here. When you create an account, start a trial, or are charged, we also tell Meta from our server, using that identifier and a one-way hash of your email so Meta can match it to the ad without receiving the address itself. Meta may combine this with what it knows about your Facebook or Instagram account; see Meta's privacy policy. You can adjust this in your Meta ad preferences.
  • Analytics cookies, set by Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager. The _ga and _ga_ cookies distinguish browsers and sessions so we can understand visits, traffic sources, and how people use the website. Their default lifetime is two years and may be refreshed on later visits; your browser may shorten it. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google Tag Manager loads and manages the Analytics tag.
  • Product analytics cookies, set by PostHog. PostHog shows us how the website is used — which pages people visit, which plans and buttons they choose, and where they stop on the way to subscribing — so we can improve it. Its cookies are named ph_, then our PostHog project key, then _posthog (and a companion ending _posthog_cpm), with matching entries in your browser's local and session storage; they last one year and hold random identifiers for your browser and visit — never your name, email, or anything you type here. Once you sign in, it is linked to your CutAI account's internal identifier, the same one the CutAI app uses, so we can see the path from a first visit to the app. When you sign out, we set cutai_ph_reset for five minutes so the next page you load forgets the account. See PostHog's privacy policy.

That is the complete list. If it changes, this page changes with it.

Page-view counting

Our website uses Google Analytics to measure page views, traffic sources, plan selection, account creation, checkout, and engagement across the site, including navigation between pages without a full reload. We also report subscription trial starts, amounts paid, renewals, and refunds from our payment server. These events contain plan details, transaction references, currency, and amounts, along with a pseudonymous browser or customer identifier. We do not send Google your name, email address, card details, or uploaded videos through this integration.

The cutai_ga cookie keeps the Analytics browser and session identifiers for up to one day so a payment can be associated with the visit that led to it. The cutai_ga_auth cookie carries a successful sign-in or registration outcome for up to five minutes and is removed after tracking. The cutai_ga_disabled cookie remembers a detected Google Analytics opt-out for up to one year. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without setting cookies.

We also use PostHog to measure the same visits and steps — page views, the pricing section, account creation, the creator-code screen, and checkout — and our payment server tells PostHog when a trial starts, a payment succeeds or fails, and a subscription is changed, cancelled, or ends. These events carry plan details, amounts, and your account's internal identifier. PostHog also receives your browser's IP address and uses it to estimate your approximate location, such as your city and country. We do not send PostHog your name, email address, card details, or uploaded videos.

The CutAI mobile app

The iPhone app does not use cookies. It keeps your session in your device's secure storage instead. Nothing described on this page applies to the app.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential cookies will stop you from signing in or completing a purchase — the signed-in parts of the site will not work. Blocking or deleting the referral cookies only means the creator who sent you is not credited; blocking the advertising-measurement cookies only means TikTok or Meta cannot tell which ad brought you; blocking the product analytics cookies only means your visits are not linked together. Nothing else changes.

We do not show a cookie consent banner. Referral, analytics, and advertising-measurement cookies are not strictly necessary. You can clear these cookies at any time or block their scripts with your browser's privacy controls. You can also use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking analytics does not change your access to CutAI.
